I (like many others) felt a wrongness in the world. Life, I knew, was supposed to be more joyful than this, more real, more meaningful. We were not supposed to hate Mondays and live for the weekends and holidays. We were not supposed to have to raise our hands to be allowed to pee.

More rain today. Coming down in sheets. The rain is just ridiculous at this point, with no end in sight. There are a few days next week that call for only a slight chance, but we probably won’t see the sun until next Friday, January 20th.

At least our new washer and dryer was delivered and installed on time today.

Met with my dissertation chair today via Zoom. It was a productive 30-minute chat. To be honest, I’ve been feeling a bit lost when thinking about ways to tie all of the elements of my research together. I needed a roadmap, a framework, much like the US DoT style guide
