Things that bring me joy: houseplants
Specifically, this dracena and this succulent planter

More rain today. Coming down in sheets. The rain is just ridiculous at this point, with no end in sight. There are a few days next week that call for only a slight chance, but we probably won’t see the sun until next Friday, January 20th.

This was the view from the front of the house around 10am today. One downpour in a series…

And, this is the forecast for the coming week

At least our new washer and dryer was delivered and installed on time today.

Met with my dissertation chair today via Zoom. It was a productive 30-minute chat. To be honest, I’ve been feeling a bit lost when thinking about ways to tie all of the elements of my research together. I needed a roadmap, a framework, much like the US DoT style guide

Filed under: things I didn’t think I’d like but do
I received a tube of L’Occitane en Provence hand lotion as a Christmas gift. It smelled like baby powder and old lady perfume. That sounds ungrateful, but I couldn’t tolerate it.
Thankfully, my son offered to exchange it for me on one of his visits to the mall. I told him to get me something more masculine. He returned with this tube of Almond Delicious Hands cream. Not what I would picked for a $30 tube of French hand lotion, but it’s really growing on me.
