Beautiful day in the LBC. Lots of walking. Lots of fun. Lots of sun. And I scored some succulents.
Drove from Folsom to Long Beach this morning. Google Maps and Waze said it was a 6.75 hour drive, without stops. Took me about 8 hours, with two stops. One for a restroom break and one for lunch and gas.
Drove past a fatality heading north on 99 just outside the old Castle AFB. Motorcyclist laid out in Lane 1, covered with a tarp. Listened to podcasts about AI, LLMs, and ChatGPT4 and now I’m terribly concerned for the future. At least the Lexus handled well, and the drive was pretty.
Got up early. Drove to the airport, then stopped at the dealership to get the oil changed in the Jeep. This 2023 Rubicon was in the showroom. Asking price was $85k. Not keen on the blue metallic color, but stunned at the price.
Packing for a trip to Southern California, and driving the Lexus because it clocks a far better MPG average.
afternoon addendum
Picked up a gallon of paint for the garage door. Did some laundry. Cleaned a bit. Packed for tomorrow’s trip. Took the Lexus to Costco to top off the tank. Quite the windstorm and view looking East.
A momma hummingbird has chosen to make a nest in my backyard. She is constructing it on the string of lights and is anchoring to the side of on of the bulbs. I’m so excited!

First day of Spring Break
