Things I like: the way the evening light hits this parlor palm frond
Progressive pool party today. This was the last stop. I decided to forgo the fireworks in the culdesac, but it was a nice time. The weather cooled to near normal and the asshole friends of neighbors were absent.
Last year, I was quarantined with covid thanks to a an early July visit to Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. If I’m being honest, I did miss setting off fireworks with my boy. Maybe that’s why I decided to sit it out tonight.

It’s nice to have friends and neighbors who own boats. Great time on the lake with friends, in the 108℉ heat. Sunscreen in the eye was not so great. Still recovering from that mishap.
